Oil on 9"x12" panel. My mother was raised as a circus performer in America, she and her family worked with Hagenbeck Wallace during the great depression, at age five she was doing what she could to contribute to circus and family. Photo reference is not a shot of my mother but taken from the book Indian Circus by Marry Ellen Mark. I often paint from circus imagery not just because of my family ties but for a vast wealth of fascinating and surreal imagery that inspires my heart and creativity.
