'Stockel, on the Bay'

Oil on 4"x6" panel.
Painted alla prima. Lately I've been watching professional oil painters on YouTube demonstrate their techniques. I think it very generous of these artists to share what they know with anyone who cares to watch.
It's very inspiring to watch good painters do their thing, it makes me want to run into the studio and paint, which is how this painting happened. I've decided to limit my palette for a bit and try to get hold of flesh tones. Thanks for visiting...

Hi Rachel,
Great portrait. It has such a wonderful feeling of movement, energy and life.
Someday, I hope to be able to make my portraits look more like yours. It may be time to start watching more YouTube videos! I agree with you about how great it is that so many talented people share their experience and knowledge without the slightest thought about remuneration.
Enjoy the weekend.
Sincerely,
Gary.
